rant
The most disturbing thing about 4x4ing is people drinking and wheeling because you never know who they are and what they can do. Also when people steel cars and drive up were we go 4x4ing and burn then is a piss off because the city will put a gate on the main road and stop you from going up.

The most inspirational
The most inspirational part of 4x4ing is seeing how for your vehicle can go though the thickest brush or over the biggest of rocks. Even just goofing around in the mud, cleaning it after is another story... when you can go other places that other vehicles can not go its satisfying. Knowing you just concord the ruff terrain to get to the top of a mountain then camping out over looking a valley with a lake below by a fire with a brew in your hand and seeing the sun set with your friends there no other feeling.

the goods and bads of Spring Over Axle lift
Spring over axle^
^The regular type of axle placement
THE GOOD THINGS ABOUT DOING THIS LIFT
~More flexible suspension
~You can fit bigger tires
THE BAD THINGS ABOUT DOING THIS LIFT
~Installation is very difficult
~Have to be a good welder
~Have to change the Steering Geometry
Doing a (SOA) lift is well worth the time if you are a good metal fabricator.
some basic
4 wheeling is about testing and finding out what you machine and driver can do in the mountainous terrain. Copilots or handy to have when you cannot see over the passenger side of your vehicle.
-Not all 4x4s are true to the name. Some have limited slip witch is when one tire turns more then the other. To get the most out of your 4x4 you should porches diff lockers
-some vehicles you can engage 4WD by simply hitting a button and others you must jump out and lock the hubs. (If you have locking hubs lock them before you engage the vehicle in 4WD)
-once you leave pavement shift from 2WD into 4WD high
-Use 4WD low before you need to negotiate any really difficult off-road obstacles. (4WD low about doubles the torque (good for steep climbs, pushing a tree off the road etc)).
-if you have diff lockers never engage them on pavement
-TRACTION
is a resistance between tire and ground.
(Is the friction between rubber and ground combined with area of ground covered by the tire - FOOTPRINT combined with vehicle WEIGHT pressing a tire onto the ground)
-Torque is a (rotating) force that tends to rotate or turn things
-Horse power is the amount of time to spin the rotation or turn things

the stock bronco 2
The stock bronco 2 performs better then a lot of stock vehicles. Because of its short wheel base and the low gear ratio and holding 15" wheels it climbs over many obstacles... I have had the truck to almost tipping point many times. The ford bronco 2 is great for camping in because the back seat fold down and then there is enough room to lay a foamy in there and sleep comfortably. The down side of the 1984 version is that it was carbureted and not fuel injected when you put the truck on an angal the truck will boug out and stall on you because you are getthing to much gas or not enough. All and all i have enjoyed my time with this truck an now it is time to move on to my Jeep YJ.
